Do you get excited about the last day of the year? I do. I love the idea that tomorrow I get to start over and try again for that state of perfection that lives in my mind.
If you've been doing the Five Days to a Clean Slate challenge then today is your last day. Don't let it slide now....just set your timer and attack those rooms. Go ahead - do it right now. I'll be waiting for you when you're done.
I'm down to the laundry room and the kids' bathroom, so it feels very do-able to me. The house isn't perfectly clean, but it's pretty good. Good enough to start the new year with.
As for your 15 minute walk, I bet you know what my question to ponder for today is going to be! That's right - set yourself some goals. Come on...you know you want to!
But this time, don't set "I will lose 15 pounds" type goals. How about something new?One of my goals this year is to say "yes" to life. I often go through my days feeling a little lonely, or a little out of touch with the rest of the world since so much of my time is spent at home with just my family. And yet, when someone does invite me somewhere, my first instinct is often to say no.
I'm going to change that this year. I'm going to be willing to say yes, even when it forces me out of my comfort zone a little. I'm going to say yes to people I don't know that well, to activities I might not excel at, and to places I thought I didn't want to go. I'll let you know how it turns out.
So how about it? What are your goals for 2009?

This may sound silly but I'm calling one of my goals a "1-2-3 challenge." I want to be sure to play 1 game, read (aloud) 2 books and make sure my kids eat 3 meals each day. I used to do all of those things regularly until I become too busy "shuffling stuff," as you so aptly put it in your 2009 Introduction post.
