The Princess' Clothes Must Go!

My daughter is the youngest of my four kids. She's the only girl. Can we say spoiled? It's so much fun to buy little girl clothes. I buy them, my parents buy them, people hand them down to us, and my sister, who has two boys and no girls, buys them by the truckload and sends them along.

Here's what we started with today. And yes, that's the princess ensconsed among her things:

Here's the after picture:

We didn't quite get half, but I'm not worried. In a month or so I'll go through them again to put away all the summer clothes. Tons of those shorts and shirts won't fit next year, anyway, so out they'll go!

"I am at peace. There is time for everything today."

Okay....I'll try that.
I have the guilt too....
so along with the clothes, I'll make a list tonight.

Take a deep breath, read to the kids, tuck them in, and spend time with my husband.
Our life is really good, so why do I too have this guilt and worry?

Thank you for reminding me of my own solution, Lisa.

Today I had to turn down an invitation to go to a movie so that I could "do the right thing" and support my ds' homeschooling. We were scheduled to listen to a history lecture. Boy, did I want to go to that movie, instead.

But I sat and listened, and we discussed it, and my dd sat next to me and worked on her first knitting project.

My kids will remember these days for years. I'll remember the movie for a month? A week?

My struggle, though, is how to find balance and nurture all the relationships. I've been lonely for friends my own age. I don't want to turn them down when they actually appear with plans!
