Book Giveaway Contest!
This month I'm giving away Sarah Susanka's terrific book, The Not-So-Big Life.
I love this book. In fact, I love everything by Sarah Susanka. She's an architect who specializes in renovating/building homes that cradle people in the perfect personal space. Instead of creating mansions, she puts her emphasis on the small touches that really make a home. This book is a departure from her usual home-remodeling ones. Instead of finding plans and pictures, you'll find steps to freeing up your life from the clutter and confusion that hold you back from what you really want to do. I found it inspiring. I hope you will, too.
Check out all her stuff at your local library, but if you'd like to win this one, leave a comment below with your name (you can always pass it on when you're done!).
This contest is open until midnight Pacific Standard Time on August 31st. The winner will be drawn randomly.
Good Luck, everyone!

Hello! I didn't miss this one.
Pam
Thanks for having this give-away, I've always wanted to read that book. We are a big family in a small house and I can always use the inspiration. :)
WTG on halving your books, by the way!
I'm in! I need some decluttering inspiration.
Hi. I'll enter this contest. My husband owns all three of her Not So Big House books and loves them. I have to admit, I do too.
Congrats on your book reduction--I need to do that, too.
I, too, wish you success with your book halving. I bought unfinished bookshelves in July which I'm just starting to finish finally so I can get my books out of the upstairs bathroom closet!
I've read all of Susanka's other books and love them. We live in a 3 BR, 2 BA house built in 1940 and I've found her ideas fit beautifully with our home.
But I'm like you - the books are the big problem. They're a good problem in my eyes though. :)
Decluttering is great. We got rid of thousands (really!) of books about a year ago. And we haven't missed them... much. It was a very liberating experience. Toys are next on my list.
The book sounds great. Lately I've been browsing realtor.com and thinking a smaller house might be nice.

We recently downsized when we moved from the 'burbs to the city. But we didn't purge first, so it's been a painful year as we get used to our new small space. But I am feeling the beginnings of peace as I work hard to get rid of 25 years of married "stuff".
Love Susanka's Not So Big House books. Would LOVE to win a copy of this one!
I've never read anything by her. But it sounds very interesting in the Amazon blurb. I promise to "book giveaway it" if I get it.
Sounds very interesting. We bought a large house last year after living in some very small places and it's just too big! And it allows too much stuff. this book sounds great!

I read one of her books and really enjoyed it.
I'm just about to clean out our "schoolroom". I'm in.
Sounds like a good book!
